and Marketing
Time required: 2 days
Related SOLs: 11.4, 11.9,
12.4
Set: Most of the students
in this class are under 16. However, they can still make connections
in the work world. Tell how volunteering was beneficial to me
as a young person. Ask for students to share their experiences
as a volunteer.
Rationale: Students need
to know why volunteering is important. They can gain experience
to include on their first resume and on college applications.
It also shows future employers they are willing to work. Also
related this effort to one of the purposes of DECA...to become conscious
of their civic responsibilities.
Objectives: T.L.W. identify
volunteer resources available in our community.
Input: Give addresses concerning
where studnets can find information on volunteerism.

via the Web, letter, toll free number, etc., concerning this volunteering
activity.
Assessment: Partners will
