INTRODUCTION TO COOP with THE SIMPSONS
This is a great lesson to use the first
week of school activity for your coop students. It is a great
way to introduce good and bad work behaviors. I use this the day
I talk about employer evaluations with my classes.
Show the episode of The Simpsons
where Frank Grimes comes to work in the power plant with Homer.
As students are viewing the episode, they
should be completing the following tables: (I've filled in some examples
of answers. However, each time I watch the episode, I seem to
find more!).

Discussion:
Does Homer have any good work behaviors
(not all students will recognized Homer's positives)?
Up with Business and I'm High on Capitalism
Recreate the lists on the board (you will
probably be surprised - the students may notice things that you might
not have noticed).
Explanation:
The reason I showed this video was to get
you thinking about good and bad work behaviors. As you know, this
class is worth 2 credits and part of your grade is based on your job
performance.
Review Employer Evaluation sheet with students.
