HOLIDAY SHADOW BOX PROJECT
VISUAL MERCHANDISING

Materials: Hot Glue, push pins, markers, Sketching pad, construction paper, foam board, clear fishing line, yarn, other supplies brought by students.

Objective: To create a Holiday Window Display for a major dept. store in New York City.


Task #1 – Decide on your visual holiday theme. Type your justification on why this theme should be placed in store windows for the 2005 holiday season.

Task #2 – Sketch 5 window displays to go along with your theme. Write a brief description on the back. Include any special features, props, etc. used in your display.

Task #3 – Build you shadow box. Follow directions carefully.

Task #4 – Select one of your sketches to recreate in your shadow box.
