PRESS
RELEASES
This is a lesson that teaches
kids about the purposes of press releases, where they go when sent to
the press, and how the press decides what to publish. It gives the students
a better idea of who their audience is when they're trying to get publicity.
Materials needed are several newspapers and at least 30 or so press
releases. (you can get the releases from the AP
wire Web site; I will attach some of my selection here, but it's
also nice to have up-to-date ones.)
