MARKETING
FUNCTIONS WALK-ABOUT
To teach the definitions
of the seven marketing functions, get the students involved in the teaching.
Materials: Marketing Text,
blank copy paper, markers/colored pencils
Procedure:
1. Divide class into seven groups (it is ideal if you end up with 2
or 3 on each team-uneven teams do not matter.)
2. Assign each team one of the seven functions.
3. Give each team paper and markers.
4. Tell each team to write their function in large print across the
top of the paper. Have students define their term using the text. (Suggest
to put it in own words) Have students illustrate their function.
5. When all are finished, hang/tape functions around the room.
6. Have students move around room from function to function with their
team, writing definition in their notes.
7. After students have written all seven, review with entire class.
Evaluation: Give students
an activity grade or participation grade, if desired.
NOTE: This method could be
used to introduce vocabulary for almost any new unit of study.
