WHEEL
OF FUNCTIONS
Project Deadline: _________________________
Objective:
To learn the seven functions of marketing and to understand what each
function entails.
Introduction:
There are seven functions of marketing that are essential to the success
of any business. Throughout the course, each of these functions will
be covered thoroughly.
Step-by-step instructions:
1. Either by hand or on the computer (use Excel), make a pie chart with
seven equal parts. Each part will represent a different function.
2. Each part of the chart
will need to have the function listed, a short explanation of the function,
and three pictures from clip art or magazines that explain the function.
HINT: One
part of the chart might represent distribution. “Distribution”
will be listed on that part with a short definition of distribution.
There might be a clip art picture of a ship, train, warehouse, airplane,
and a truck. These pictures represent the different means of transportation
of products as well as how and where you choose to store the products.
3. After you have completed
the wheel, cut out the wheel and make a duplicate copy of the size circle
of the wheel. You will have two circle cutouts – one with the
pictures, etc. and one blank one.
4. On the blank circle, cut
out a slice of the circle that corresponds with one of the functions
on the wheel.
5. Punch a whole in the center
of the wheels and attach with the brass fastener.
