Two opportunities exist
with Virginia DECA, and in order to fully plan such an excursion,
I NEED YOUR FEEDBACK. If there is not adequate interest, I will take
no further action. Please examine the options, then answer the questions
below.
Option #1
- Fashion/International Marketing Trip to Italy.
(11 days, 10 nights)
This is a phenomenal trip!
After having attended this past April, I'm eager to help provide it
once again. This will be an advisor only
trip, and features tours of manufacturers, retailers, factory outlets,
and everything in between (with an emphasis on fashion and international
marketing, but can be applied to all aspects of marketing). It will
take you from the big, such as the Gucci factory, to the intimate,
such as family owned suit makers. Your days will be filled with marketing
activities, while your evenings will be filled with exploration and
fun. If you are interested, this will also be offered as a three credit
hour graduate level course through ODU, and can be used for licensure/recertification.
You'll visit Milan, Bellagio, Como, Pisa, Venice, Florence, and of
course, Rome, not mention a few stops along the way. The pricing will
be in the $2800-$2900 range, and this trip would be planned for either
the spring or summer of 2007. This would allow you to begin making
payments of approximately $150 per month beginning at the onset of
the coming school year, and you'll be paid for by the time we make
the trip. This includes all transportation, your breakfasts and dinners
(all at very elegant restaurants), and also includes lodging at VERY
nice 4 and 5 star hotels. I'll firm up the details once we determine
that there is adequate interest. We'll need between 20 and 28 willing
to commit before this will happen. Please make sure to respond to
the question below if you'd like more information.
Option #2
- Travel and Tourism/Hospitality/International Marketing Cruise
to the Caribbean. (4
days, 4 nights, subject to change)
The event would be in the
spring or summer of 2006, and would begin with a tour of a major hotel
chain (Moody Gardens) in Galveston, and follow with a cruise leaving
from Galveston. You would then go "island hopping, visiting a
variety hotels and resorts, providing tours at every destination.
This would be a student and advisor cruise.
The cost would be approximately $400 per person, excluding your airfare
to Texas. It could be modified to add days, if enough of you are interested
in doing so. If this interests you, again, I will need your feedback.
Please answer the questions below. E-mail responses are fine.
IF I DO NOT RECEIVE ENOUGH
INTEREST IN THESE TRIPS, THEY WILL NOT HAPPEN. Therefore, if you are
genuinely interested, you need to let me know so that I can proceed
in planning them. Your questions/feedback are not a commitment, but
I do need to know that we will have enough interest to commit to something
like this.
