The current UNIX Support Group was founded in 1988 to address the needs of a growing UNIX user base at Old Dominion University. Over the years it has grown from a few servers and workstations to a campus-wide distributed computing system. The members have changed but the focus has remained the same: providing the best UNIX System support possible.
The HPC Support Group was founded in January, 2000 to address the unique needs of a new but growing High Performance Computing community. Since it's inception, the HPC Support Group has been working with the UNIX Support Group to ensure that needs of Old Dominion University's HPC users are met.
