Norfolk and Helios to be Retired July 1 2007

On July 1, 2007, we are turning off Norfolk (a Sun Fire E3500) and Helios (a Sun Fire E10000). Norfolk's replacement is Belize, a Sun Fire V890 with eight UltraSPARC IV processors and 32 gigabytes of memory. Helios' replacement has been Hydra, a Sun Fire E2900 with 12 dual-core UltraSPARC IV processors and 64 gigabytes of memory.

If you have files in /scratch on Helios, our recommendation would be to copy them to your home directory as soon as possible. If you need your quota increased (within reason) to accomodate those files, please let us know.
